Position Summary

The Sales Manager oversees Ideal’s entire sales operation and team.  By coaching and inspiring the team to reach the next performance level, this role drives profitable sales growth from construction clients across a national footprint.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead team of 15 employees consisting of Sales, Customer Coordinators, Marketing and Design (estimating & engineering) 
  • Motivate the team, instill a high sense of urgency and ensure goals are met
  • Responsible for training, managing performance and professional development of the team; conducting performance reviews
  • Develop and execute comprehensive annual sales plan including targets, budget preparation, KPIs
  • Participation in the strategic direction of the company: inform other senior leaders of any significant deals, trends or changes that have impact
  • Collaborate closely with the Managing Director/CEO, HR, Finance, and the manufacturing plant leadership 
  • Involvement in assisting team through significant deals and higher-level negotiations
  • Run effective weekly sales meetings for all team as well as conduct a quarterly business review every three months.
  • Ensure compliance with Salesforce CRM database maintenance standards and Shoptech E2 MRP Systems
  • Oversee all marketing functions and measure the effectiveness
  • Responsible for Data Analytics; continuous review of reports

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Small business or family-owned business experience
  • Deep Foundation industry experience a plus; Engineering and/or construction experience would be advantageous
  • 5+ years of sales management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Marketing field preferred
  • Proven track record of selling & marketing construction products to businesses is highly desirable.
  • Advanced computer program skills specifically with Salesforce 
  • Familiarity with the design/bid/build nature of manufactured unique products for the construction industry also desired

manufacturing supervisor (first shift)

Position Summary

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor provides for the direction and supervision of daily activities of the Welding and Production departments to ensure meeting required goals such as safety, production, quality, efficiency.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise the activities of assigned personnel to achieve predetermined production volume as scheduled consistent with cost and required quality levels
  • Partner closely with the Shop Floor Foreman on communication re: goals, directing and motivating the employees
  • Plan work assignments to achieve maximum utilization of manpower, materials, equipment, and facilities. Recommends labor requirements and adjustments to the workforce- input the data on the White Board and include/adjust quantity numbers as needed
  • Communicate to management any changes or conditions which may affect production
  • Review production and welding employees and makes recommendations on promotions, transfers, wage adjustments, etc
  • Assure compliance with plant rules, policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping
  • Lead teams that are focused on the primary purposes of daily operation through safety, quality, service, and productivity levels 
  • Ensure hourly workforce is flexible and properly trained
  • Must handle the interpersonal aspect of the job including disciplinary activity, coordination with HR, other supervisors, work rule enforcement, and labor relations
  • Maintenance of data and reports related to the supervised area using Microsoft applications such as Excel and Access
  • Partner with Design Engineering personnel concerning new or revised methods, layouts, processes, and equipment to increase operating efficiency, reduce cost, or improve quality
  • Work with Production Planner and Operations Manager on production schedules, parts, etc. Provides feedback on status of schedule and needs for change
  • Work with the Production Planner and Operations Manager to maintain an orderly and up-to-date inventory of machine consumables and WIP items based on the current workload.  Ensure that the stocking levels are appropriate so that we do not run short of an item.
  • Strive to uphold Ideal’s core goal of providing high-quality welded products with no defects.  Work with weld employees and CWI to certify them to our D1.1 standards, closely monitor their weld quality, and write any necessary WPS.
  • Ensure all QC checks have been completed; make the final call to not ship non-conforming materials despite potential scheduling conflicts.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Manufacturing experience a must; welding preferred
  • College education preferred high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Intermediate personal computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Physical Demands and Work Environment 

  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Able to stand (85%); walk (10%); stoop, kneel or crouch (5%), as required
  • Frequent twisting, horizontal reaching, upper extremity push/pull
  • Able to wear required PPE; ear plugs, safety glasses, steel toed boots 
  • Most of the year temperatures inside the plant will match or exceed the outdoor conditions as bay doors remain open
  • Weld smoke and metal cutting machine filtration systems minimize smoke but do not eliminate it.  Air quality is below OSHA PEL (Permissible Exposure Limits) guidelines; therefore, Respirator use not required by standard, Voluntary Use only- must have medical evaluation prior.

STRUCTURAL STEEL MIG WELDERS NEEDED

Now Hiring for B-shift: 3:00pm – 12:30am with required OT as needed.
• Arrive on time for your shift every day and communicate well with your supervisor

• 1 -2 years prior welding experience required
• This is a full time/permanent position with overtime hours available

SHIPPING

• You will work in a variety of packaging and forklift driving positions in our welding plant.
• Moving steel pipe with forklifts, banding together heavy finished steel products
• Building wooden skids or crates with a nail gun and power saw.

Requirements:
• A-shift works approximately 6:00am – 3:00pm with required OT as needed.
• B-shift works approximately 3:00am – 12:30pm with required OT as needed.
• Arrive on time for your shift every day and communicate well with your supervisor
• Positive attitude a must
• Happy to work in teams
• Prior forklift or skid banding experience is preferred – not required.
• You should be in good physical condition and able to lift up to 55 lbs on a regular basis
• Ready and able to work inside OR outside, year-round.
• This is a full time/permanent position with overtime hours available
